When to choose which

Where Resend wins

Resend publishes nine official SDKs while ours are still coming, so if your service is written in Rust, Elixir, Java or .NET they have a client for you today and we do not. On the rows a reader usually comes here for — inbound mail, an SMTP relay, signed webhooks, replay, idempotency, versioned templates, automations, an MCP server, Markdown documentation — the two products answer the same way, and the honest summary is that this is a close comparison rather than a lopsided one.

The verdict

Two rows separate these products at the price list. Extra email costs $0.60 per thousand on Rasket and $0.90 on Resend, and campaigns sit on the same Rasket plan and the same key as transactional mail, where Resend prices marketing email as a second plan. Everything else in the table is a tie or close to one, so the choice is usually about those two rows and about which SDK you need: pick Resend if your language is on their longer list, and Rasket if you would rather pay less per thousand and keep one plan for every kind of mail you send.

Questions

Rasket and Resend. What people ask before they switch.

Is Rasket a good alternative to Resend?

Yes, on the rows the table covers. Both send over a REST API and an SMTP relay, sign their webhooks, receive inbound mail and document themselves for agents. Rasket charges $0.60 per thousand extra emails against $0.90, and keeps campaigns on the same plan as transactional mail rather than pricing them separately. Resend has more SDK languages, so check that row before you move.

Does Resend include inbound email?

Resend: Yes. The pricing page lists inbound emails under "All plans include". Rasket receives mail at your own domain on every plan, including the free one, and delivers each message to a signed webhook with its headers, text, HTML and attachments.

Which is cheaper at 50,000 emails a month?

At exactly 50,000 emails a month the two entry plans cost the same: $20, for 50,000 emails, on both. The difference shows up past the quota — an extra thousand emails is $0.60 on Rasket and $0.90 on Resend — and again if you send marketing email, which Resend prices as a separate plan and Rasket includes on the one you already have.

Does Rasket have an SMTP relay?

Yes. Point any app that sends over SMTP at smtp.rasket.com on port 465 or 587, with the username rasket and an API key as the password, and each message becomes an ordinary API send: the same verified domains, suppressions, quota and webhooks. Moving an SMTP integration is a change of host and credentials, not of code.

Can I migrate from Resend to Rasket?

Verify your domain in Rasket and publish the DKIM, SPF and DMARC records we generate, then point your code at POST /emails and swap the key. An app that sends over SMTP changes only the host, to smtp.rasket.com, and the password, to a Rasket key: the username resend and the Resend-Idempotency-Key header are both accepted as they are. Templates are rewritten once and published as a version; contacts import from a CSV; each webhook endpoint is recreated with a new signing secret and can be replayed from the dashboard while you get the handler right. You can run both providers at once during the switch, because nothing about a verified domain is exclusive.

Which is better for AI agents?

Both are built for them, and it would be misleading to claim otherwise. Resend publishes an MCP server, agent skills and Markdown at every documentation URL; Rasket publishes an MCP server with seven toolsets, a setup skill, Markdown at every docs URL, llms.txt and llms-full.txt. The practical difference is scope rather than tooling: a Rasket agent can set up a domain, send, receive and run a campaign against one key.
